Suggestions for going into court
Date: Mon, 08/30/2010 - 04:50
I've been served to appear in court in eleven days. AAC hired local attorneys to go after what was likely five times less (never has a credit limit that high).
My question is "what should I go into the courtroom with?" I've been sued before by a doctor (it was fraud and I got money out of it) but the credit card thing is different. Guessing the lawyer will want to settle there, but don't know what I should arm myself with. I've already sent a DV letter, but no response as of yet. Considering the sudden service and quick court date I expected no response. With the service came backing documentation, but none of that was a bill or mention of last time the account was active with the original creditor. It was a contract from the creditor (no signature) and a bill from the 2nd party who purchased the debt SENT TO A VERY OLD ADDRESS.
Lots of questions...
