HELP!!! Served papers and being sued by CITIBANK

I was served papers by the sherriff in so CA last night. I know I'm supposed to respond, but I've never been through anything like this. So i have no idea what i'm supposed to respond with? The debt was created within the past 4 years and they are claiming $1,571.31. I can't afford my wages being garnished @ 10%:confused: but I can afford 100 a month. Is it too late for payment plans? Is it too late to call Citibank to resolve? Does anybody have a similar cituation that can provide me some advice?
