Payment Plan RipOff

I called FIA card services in Jan 2010 and explained my financial situation and the rep put me on a payment plan for a fixed amount every month to be deducted automatically and reduce my interest rate significantly. Payments was going fine every month. Everything was fine, until in Aug 2010 I thought I'll open up one of the statements and noticed that I've been hit with late feee from Jan 2010 until Aug 2010 saying that I was past due on my payment!! I'm like, WTF. Then when I called the rep, they said, it seems like I was approved for the payment plan only in Aug 2010! I was confused! This is completely different from what the rep in Jan , 2010 told me and signed me up for $xxx /month plan and lowered rate and regular payments was made.
Today I explained this to them and it took more htan an hour to make them understand! And I'm not even sure if they will do what they promised. They said, they will waive all the late fee and issue a csi (to the credit bureau) to indicate everything is fine.
I don't trust them. Every time I call, it's like the next rep doesn't know fully (no proper notes from previous rep) what they did. Can you imagine, you're paying everyhting and still get hit with a late fee?!!! Now I've to call and check. I'm totally stuck on what to do next, if still the problem continues!

The problem is that tacking on late charges every month increases the balance due. When I entered into agreement with Discover, they absolved all late fees; gave me a payment amount and I will be done in one year.
GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING!! Otherwise you have no proof of any
GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING!! Otherwise you have no proof of any agreement and FIA can just take your money.
I would call back and explain your situation again. Usually a different person answers the phone every time. You also might want to search for the "special" FIA number people have posted here for the Senior Associates. They seem to be competent from what people have posted here.
