If the internet loans are illegal in your state, are you still bound by the laws of the state the loan came from? I have had a lender just threaten to garnish wages and file a judgement against me simply because I asked him about the internet loans being illegal in KY. He said "yes there are illegal in KY, but your contract says you are bound by the state of Utah" is this true? or is this just a scare tatic?

appreciate any help,
these people are ruthless.

Yea I have read that they tell you that --- and it IS in their contract that they had you sign which is un-enforceable if they are not licensed by your state (if your state requires them to be)...course they are going to try to tell you that to get you to pay....as they assume we won't research things and find out they are lying! Good luck!
