Please help in my situation. Back in February of 09, I didn't give my apartment complex the 90 day notice i was supposed to give before I left (it was my first apartment on my own), so they tacked on over $1500 worth of extra fees that I COULD NOT pay at the time. So I charged it on a credit card I had with a $5500 limit thinking that was done with.

Well, I checked back months later (living with a family member now) and it didn't go through! The strange thing is, this is not on my free annual credit report, but I seem to be getting calls from random numbers every now and then. What are my options here?

Also, the one potentially negative item on my credit report is with a company I've never been to before. Is the best option to dispute the debt through my free annual report?

How could you miss a $1500 charge not going thru?

I thought it went through because everything else had on that card and I was also in a tough/stressful transitional period looking for housing.

Isn't it better to dispute it than to just let it sit on your credit history?
