Settlements w/Chase, Discover, GE Money Bank & Sears

What are your experiences with settling with any of these creditors? Should I be calling and saying we aren't able to pay? We are 35 days late on these. Loss of income and can't pay, but so scared because I don't want to do this wrong. I haven't read anything about Sears. Should I be contacting them or let them contact me? Thanks

I'm surprised they haven't called you yet. Communication is key. If you have money to settle, start making calls and/or sending settlement letters. Start low and negotiate to what you're actually willing to pay :) Good luck!
