they wont even bother validating because of the cease and desist. You cannot partial "mail only" under the FDCPA. The account will probably be forwarded to a law firm. Hard to say what settlement you will be offered now.

What do you mean partial "mail only". The letter just stated that they are to only contact us via US Mail and not Phone. And that the letter is not an indication of non payment but to just verify the debt

You cannot request "mail only"...the FDCPA defines a cease and desist as NO CONTACT at all. It is too time consuming to type up personalized letters so they will ditch the account and ignore the DV. Most CA's will close the account out and return with a legal status to the client. I know my agency did.
