They are not required to send you a payment history or an agreement between EOS and ATT. The only thing you should be able to get is a copy of your contract.

OK, good to know (even though the sample letter on this site asks for a lot more than that). They did not send me a copy of my contract. Should I write back and request it? And if they don't provide it, what then (in terms of recourse and next step)?

I also sent them a validation letter and sent me what looks like a copy of a fictitious bill with my current address on it but the weird thing is the company said "Sprint" and not AT&T. I don't understand how they could have gotten my name and address. I don't have an AT&T phone or a Sprint phone. They are reporting this on my credit report. I have sent them a second validation letter asking that they send me a contract among other things. They responded with a collection bill saying that I owe them. Mind you...this is the first time I have heard from them through the mail. They did not even contact me before putting it on my credit report. I would like to see them produce a contract with my signature. What a magic trick that will be.

What all citizens should be aware of, is that when you do business of any kind on the internet. Companies do sell your information.
They may inform you that they do not. But trust me. Money talks and More money, talks, louder.
Those "cookies" that we leave all over the internet, will do you in.
So..., be careful, if you can.
If you fill out information to order or start a service with a business, and them change your mind. Companies sell that information, because in truth, you are not one of their customers.
CA businesses, go by a 50-50 chance that they will get it right. That you did at one point in your life, use Sprint or AT&T phone services, and that you did have a payment dispute with one of them, if not both.
They will them assign one of those debts to your name and "go for broke". Hoping to collect something from you.
It is all our fault, because we allow these business to be created, without regulating their status and operating rules/laws.
