I live in nc and my husband and I have 2 vehichles one is fully paid for and the other we have monthly payments. what is the law when you don't pay your credit cards. I am looking for work and he is working but only makes 1300 dollars a month. right now we are living with a friend for free. we also have 2 children and all money goes for bills but we have had to use our cards at times to buy food. we are at a point were we can't make the payments and I am worried what will happen. my 1 child has disabilities and my husband has medical problems. we are not well educated and between age 45 and 50. so finding work has been difficult. does anyone know do they put you in jail or what can they do. I am being told to settle but I don't know how I would come up with any money to settle. and will one card wait to settle with you if you are settleing with another card.
You cannot be put in jail for not paying credit cards.
You cannot be put in jail for not paying credit cards.
I would call up your credit card companies and ask them if there
I would call up your credit card companies and ask them if there's a hardship program they can put you on. Many will reduce your interest rate to 0% and lower your payment for up to 12 months.
