Yesterday I received two seperate messages from a company I think is called Penncro Associates about an attempt to collect outstanding debt. The phone number they gave to call back was 1-877-561-0720 with a specific extension number. Do I return the phone call back or leave it be and let them keep calling back if they choose to?

I have not received any written notices from any of my credit card companies or anyone else I have an account with about any money owed so I am not sure why this company is contacting me in the first place. I have read some online posts about a letter I can send to request validation of debt but in order to send the letter I would need to call them back to get an address, which I am not sure is a good idea to begin with. Please help. I have never received any calls from any collection agencies in the past and would like for this to go away.

Its better that you call them back and know why they are calling you. Ask them to send you a collection letter without which you would not co-operate with them. Once you receive the letter, if you don't recognize the debt, you should send them a DV letter via certified mail with a request for return receipt.
