I have a question regarding an internet payday loan company named Magnum cash advance. I have done some research because they are making unauthorized ach debits, from my checking account. We attempted to make prior arrangement's with them, they are always hard to get a hold of. Is this legal and what are my rights? I don't believe they are legal to do business with in the state of Ohio but not fully sure on this.

Yes, Magnum Cash Advance is illegal in the state of Ohio. Have you taken any loan from them? Anyways, you need to close your account to save your money from them, at least make it deposit only.

Please make sure to file complaints with the FTC, BBB and your AG. Also file a complaint against Magnum Cash for extending loans to your state residents when they aren't suppose to.

I found them pretty easy to work with. I sent an illegal lender letter to them via email. They responded with the typical "not bound by Ohio laws, etc." and I simply responded that I know Ohio law prevails. They sent another email stating that, although they disagreed, they were marking my account as PIF. They never attemped to debit my account again.
