I'm in Texas and I owe about $5400 as follows:
Cashnet 1732
Check N Go 943
Paycheck Today 200
Ameriloan 195
One Click Cash 195
Zip 19 1079
Payday 1 615
Instant Cash USA 520

I have paid consistently on all my loans and I'm not yet in default.
I'm considering closing my account, but I'm not sure. Shoud I hire a settlement company? I'm overwhelmed and afraid. I would appreciate any advice.

Is it Cashnet Usa? If it is, then they are legal and you can get a payment plan from them if you ask for.

Check n Go is a member of the CFSA and will be able to get a. extended payment plan. Payday one is also easy to work with. What you will need to do is email or send a letter via certified mail explaining them that you are unable to continue paying them and you need to set up a payment arrangement with them.

Ameriloan, One Click Cash, Zip 19 and Instant Cash USA are all illegal PDL companies in Texas. Don't pay them a dime more than the actual amount borrowed. Check out the following how to deal with the illegal lenders: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/illegal-pdl-dealings.html

I would not hire a settlement company , with some time, research and the help of the members of this fine forum I think you're much better off doing it yourself. The first thing we need to know is are they all internet loans, no storefront?

Then you need to look up the laws pertaining to PDL's for your state, see if they need to be licensed by your state or will their home state be sufficient. DO NOT just close your account, the PDL's will still put them through and you'll rack up a lot of money in NSF fees. You will want to close your account but there's a process to file, it's not very difficult but it's a little time consuming and at times frustrating.

Last week I tried to get an EPP with Checkngo before defaulting and they would not. They stated I'm allowed to refinance 7 times and before paying in full. They would not offer payment arrangments unless you defaulted. I called the CFSA and they told me due to Texas laws they DON'T have to offer EPP. SAD! I finally broke down and borrowed the money from my parents to pay back all of my mine and i owed about $3k.
