Hello all,

I had a Capital One credit card referred to a debt collector. I first learned about that when the collection agency started calling me and leaving voice messages asking me to call back. I found out that the company is called Global Credit. I proceeded with finding their website and sending a DV letter to their address in NY, listed on the website. They accepted the letter (certified mail) but they still keep calling. Then I received a letter in the mail from their company asking for payment but from a different address in AL (not the one on their website). What do I do next?

Thanks.

Hello HOF,

Thanks for the answer. I forgot to mention that within the DV letter I have asked to only be communicated to via USPS. Does this count as a valid partial cease & desist and is it a valid lawful argument? Should I mail communication to the address on their site now or to the address where the letter came in from?

Thanks.

good question it seems this place like other collectors have multiple addresses.a way to get around validation for awhile.i would send a follow-up to the NY address, and a fresh one to the address on the letter.btw there is no such thing as a partial cease and desist.another btw.a collector is not allowed to contact at all unless they can validate.so send the letter to both addresses, but edit out the part about the usps.that might yield results better.
