I need some help if there is a kind soul to respond. I have 6 cash advance loans with local advance stores and 3 internet loans. It was suggested to me by a credit counselor (after reviewing our financial situation) to either file bankruptcy of close my bank account and negotiate paying off the loans as fast as I can. I have about $1,200/month in fees and can't get on top of them and my bills. What is the best way, or suggestions to attack this problem? What kind of notice should I give them? What things to know in advance will be of help? Tuesday is payday and the internet loans will attempt to access my closed account. (the account was closed and can not be accessed or connected to my new account at all.) The local stores of course have post dated checks which will not be honored should they try to deposit them. I fell I should tell them in person what my intentions are and plan to make payments to them to get the loans paid. Does this sound like a solid plan? Thank you for any help. -Ken
