Hi,

I have a BOA American Express credit card with a 35K Balance. I am 14.9% interest & my payment is $725.00 per month.

One month ago I went in for a simple one day surgery and it turned into a night mare for me. My lung collapsed and am ok for now, but I have not been able to work for the over a month and Dr are not giving me a green light to work for aprox 3+ months. Not even sure if my job will there for me in 3 months?

Right now I am behind one payment and need advise on what I should do. I am a young guy(35yrs old) and don't want my credit to take a big hit, but with no work - I just can't seem to make a $700+ payment. I don't want them to close the account if I can help it, because I have had it for over 9 years in good standing. I would be able to make smaller payments from my saving account for a while. I have read in other treads that if you call and ask for a lower payment or lower rate - THEY Close your account?

They have been trying to call me once a day and I have not picked up the phone, because I am not sure how to handle this?? I would be willing to pay say $400.00, but not sure how that's gonna fly with BOA. Like I said I really don't want them to close the account on me.

Any Advise would be greatly appreciated - Thank for reading
