Should I send a dv and sol at the same time???? I'm a little scared to respond to them as they seem shady by offering such a small settlement offer, not that I even owe it.

better yet, get AT&T back on the phone and ask them what the hell they think they are doing, hiring a collection agency to collect a debt that they themselves even admit is not owed. I would record that phone call.....no joke. Put it back on them to call off the dogs--if they know that this was fraud, then they dont have any business hiring a debt collector to come after you for it. If they didnt hire the debt collector, you want that information on tape as well. Then you could go back to AFNI and tell them that they are trying to commit fraud and that you are reporting them to every relevant state and federal agency for it.

well now i just found out they are on my credit report saying i used verizon in 2009. because of this i have to pay a deposit to get electricity turned on where i am moving because only one company offers it there. so i pulled my credit report and found tons of stuff that i knew nothing about. might explain all the spoofed calls i get all day long. i have some pinnacle financial calling 20 to 50 times a week. they will not speak and use spoofed numbers. i'm sure there are threads about them on here too. and now i'm getting constant spam scams on my cell.
i'm considering this identiy theft. someone has my info and is reporting debts i don't owe. i know they are all scam or collections agencies but i'm checking into the identity theft thing anyway. after all they are using my information to try to collect money illegally. now i'm going to have spend money sending tons of certified letters to credit agencies to get this stuff removed and don't appreciate the high deposit i'm forced to pay when moving.
i switched banks over a year ago and i'm now wondering if that may be the cause of it. a relative worked there and has told me of many firings for reasons like tellers looking up a person's account just to look at it. most people at the branch i used were fired for theft and such. i also know for sure of a conversation about my balance between the manager and an ex employee. i only use the account to pay certain bills. i don't like everyone knowing how much my bills are and talking about it.
i bet somehow they are involved. oh....pinnacle has called twice since i started typing. i'm going to have to pay to have my cell changed too. this is getting to be too much of a hassle
