Has anyone dealt with ARM? I'm trying to research them because they say I owe them money money but aren't really willing to work anything out with me. I have to send large sums or the deal is off they say. I had a company try to scam me last week but this is an entirely different company. I need anything you have on these people. Good or bad.

I received a call on 1-26-2011 and was ask where I reside so they can serve me papers. I asked what was this in regards too and the person told me it was about a legal issue and that I needed to call 888-490-4925 with a case number that was filed in the state I reside. When I called the number, somebody answer the phone stating corporate office and asked me if I had a file number or case number. Then I was transfer to a gentleman named Daniel walker. He told me that there is a summons against me and a case is filed in court regarding an account with an specific credit card company telling me that I would be sued for the amount of 3000 and some odd dollars for a credit card opened in 2005 and went in default in 2008. I asked him to give me a demand letter and at this point he told me that it was impossible to do so. After talking to him for a while to find out about this debt, I told him that I am willing to pay but I am unable to pay until my paycheck arrive and he informed me that if I dont pay by jan 31 of 2011 that this matter will resume in court and that I will have to pay 1900 plus court cost which will add up to 3000(did you start to see inconsistencies). I told him that I do not have any money and he told me that the most he can do is to settle the account for 900 and some odd dollars in which I accepted. He informed me that a letter will be sent out and all I needed is to sign it and send it back to them. This company sends me 2 letter with totally different information. It has different account numbers, different address, and different balances. I called them regarding the inconsistencies of the letter and the rep could not tell me why it was, WE then started to talk about the information on the letter and more inconsistencies came. I asked him why was it that this account is not showing in my credit report and he told me that they are not a collection company and therefore they do not report anything to the credit bureau but one of the letter they sent me states that this is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose. I also asked him about the case number that they said they file in the state and county I reside in and he told me that because I call voluntarily to resolve this debt, they did not file the claim. I informed the gentleman that as of this moment I do not believe him and I will see him in court because of the discrepancies. I am sure the judge would like to see all the discrepancies there is. People be careful with this company as I am sure they are doing unfair collection practices

I am NOT AN ATTORNEY.....and speaking on my own based on my 36 years of legal experience alone. Atlantic Resource Management is attached to 888-490-4925. They are probably using a fake name first of all, and are telling you that you have been sued and will be arrested, or your house will be taken away...blah blah blah.

I just got a call from my nephew stating he had been contacted. I checked the online records of the actually court house where he would have been sued for an alleged debt in 2007! THERE IS NO LAWSUIT and on his credit report, there is no such credit card account or delinquency reported. THIS APPEARS TO BE A SCAM! DO NOT SEND THESE PEOPLE MONEY ON FAITH. I am not licensed to give advice and just speaking as a person: If you get a call from ANYONE like this - know your rights. If you have a computer.....SEARCH "FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT" read it! Debt collectors CANNOT threaten you. If you get a call, request the full name and address, and FAX number of their company...........ask then to send you all billing records and a copy of the "suit" that has been filed against you; tell them you are taping the conversation as threats are not legal; also, TELL THEM THAT YOU ARE ENTITLED TO WRITTEN COMMUNICATION FROM THEM UNDER THE FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT AND THAT YOU WANT THEIR ADDRESS SO THAT YOU CAN WRITE THEM AND DEMAND THAT THEY NOT CONTACT YOU VIA TELEPHONE.........ONLY IN WRITING. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION.

Just trying to help out. Remember,

Calls from the following numbers:
888-490-4925
951-286-6726
214-310-4915
Left the following FRAUDULENT message: "Hello my name is Michael Jones and I'm trying to reach a xxxxxxx in reference to a complaint that has been forwarded to my office. If you need to discuss the possible pending action being filed on this complaint. You'll need to call 888-490-4925 that's the issue and the just legal department. Case number xxxxxxxxxx. Thank you"

This is a classic scammer, attempting to collect on out-of-date (statute of limitations) debt. Vultures. Pitiful vagrants. DON'T FALL FOR IT. THERE IS PLENTY OF INFORMATION OUT THERE, FREE, REGARDING THESE CROOKS. DON'T ALLOW THEM TO ENGAGE YOU. BETTER YET, DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE IF YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE THE PHONE NUMBER. REMEMBER AS A CHILD, YOUR MOTHER TOLD YOU TO NEVER OPEN THE DOOR TO A STRANGER. THIS IS NO DIFFERENT.

Yeah - my boyfriend got a call from a supposed "lawyer" asking why he wasn't in court today. Now, these people are in CA and he is in TN. No subpoena, no receipted mail, no nothing. It took a couple hours to check out his free credit report on annualcreditreport.com and find out there's nothing anyone would spend all this money to collect a lousy $500 debt from years ago. Luckily, he is rednecky enough and told him in very explicit language where he could put his information. I called the number and got the "corporate office" receptionist, and I asked what city, state, name of business etc. These guys apparently have no web presence.

I would highly suggest to tell these guys what to do with their information in Tennessee language. Which ain't nice!
