Can not get paperwork from RJM

Last May 2009, I was left a warrent notice on my front door that I missed a court date in Chelsea District Court, I immediately contacted the sherriff and was connected to the law offices of Kream & Kream of E Weymouth, 781) 331-9333. Basically I was told by the Sherriff that there was a warrant out for my arrest and if I did not clear this up I would be arrested. I made payment arangements with Kream for $100 a month that started June 2009 for a old Fingerhut (2002) debt that was sold to RJM Acquisition.
I have tried multiple times to get some sort of proof that I owe this debt from Kream and Kream and RJM, neither will give me any documentation in writing, I have asked for my balance and since 5/09 have paid $1500. Kream and Kream will not give me a balance and RJM say they have no information on my account. All I want is to know why I am paying this and what it is going toward and documentation and it taken off my credit report. I am paying because I am afraid I will be arrested

I didn't go to court because I never received the notice, apparently in Massachusetts they don't have to officially serve you, they can just send the letter via regular mail. There is no proof that they sent it or I received it.

You may want to look at MA law again....http://www.massreports.com/courtrules/civil.htm#Rule4
Looks like they have to attmept to serve you in person.

I was told by the Sherriff that in Mass you don't have to attempt to serve in person. Interesting. I am going to go to the court house and pull the file and see where I can go from here.
