OMG... I cannot believe I am actually taking charge of my own finances again!!!

Yes, today was the fateful day. 2 Paychecks in, 6 payday loan payments to come out - the sum of those payments being approximately $1,300.

For those who don't know, on 4 of the 6 loans I have paid far beyond the borrowed amount and on the other two I owe (at most) about $500 total, which I am making arrangments to pay via money order or prepaid Visa. I've spent the last almost 2 weeks sending ACH revocation letters, C&D letters and working with my bank to secure one account and establish another. The account now "secured" (which is right now in a "deposit only" status) will be permanently closed as soon as our payroll direct deposits catch up to the new account.

This morning I looked at my accounts to find that only ONE of my lenders even attempted a debit. It was for $150 and is listed as "pending" not "posted". I've already spoken to my bank and they are "fairly certain" that charge will just drop off and never actually post and have already told me that with the proof they have of my having blocked all debits from that account and the manager being well aware of our situation, they would definitely file a claim to have the funds returned to my account if it does, in fact, post.

Honestly, as much as I really need that $150 back right now, I can be patient and wait a day or two if I need to since it might very well resolve on its own. This is seriously a SMALL price to pay compared to what I've been facing every payday for the last 18 months or so.

The tips and advice I've gotten here have been SPOT ON and I encourage ANYONE in this predicament to follow the directions given. It really, REALLY does work.

My mortgage company is going to be very happy as well....
