When working on a settlement do you use the orginal amount before all the fees/charges are added on or do you try to settle on the inflated amount owed?

I am not at the settlement stage yet (accts have not aged enough yet). The fees that are being added on to my acct are absolutely insane.

Greetings rex535,

Just my 2 cents worth here.
Everything is negoitable when dealing with roaches.....er credit card companies.

Just because they say that you owe x........make 'em prove it.
I did several settlements where I argued against the bs charges.

It's just money back into your wallet.
Lower the true balance then attack for settlement.
