So unfair!

During the housing boom I bought a condo in FL. The lender arranged a line of credit for the 15% downpayment. Since then I had to join the mass of people who had to let their home go. Even though Wells Fargo owned the mortgage and the LOC & the condo foreclosed, they are now after me for the LOC. Their point of view is that with the collateral gone [which they now own], I am still responsible for the LOC. The debt collector is now threatening to attach this LOC to other properties in my name & also to pursue wage garnishment. The maddening aspects are one, WF got TONS of money from our tax dollars & now they're using those dollars to pursue the very hands that feed them. Second, the collector told me herself, that because my credit report shows that I am responsible, pay off all my credit cards each month in full, & I am gainfully employeed, they are after me. She told me IF I had revolving credit card lines & not showing financial responsability [other than this foreclosure] they would not even take a second look at my LOC! So, I am being punished for being a responsible person!
My question here is just how much I should be concerned? I really do not care about my credit report. It is ruined already with the foreclosure. What is the procedure for them to take me to court & such? I now live in another state. Would I be required to go to court in FL when summoned? What kind of time frame am I looking at? The LOC is about $26K.
Thanks for any tips anyone can give me.

No, Wells will sue you where you reside. I know a couple of people going thru this exact same thing right now. One was already sued pretty quick and wells is threatening on the other and will more than likely follow thru shortly.
Thanks for the reply even though it's not good news. :)
