I sent a letter to cashnetusa revoking the ach debit. They wrote back that they will not honor that. That was August 11. Since then they have attempted to debit our checking account with 3 different amounts a day. Is that legal? I emailed them again asking for proof they have a license in louisiana. They have a paper on their site that says they follow the laws of Louisiana with the Louisiana crest on it. From everything i've read in Louisiana you have to have a storefront and internet lenders are not licensed. I've since been able to get enough money together to close the account with NSF fees - our banker was very nice. When I had called previously i was told we would have to put a stop payment on every possible amount that they could come through with, however, she was able to do it by name (could have saved myself a lot of money had I know that earlier)

I don't know what makes you think that Internet payday lenders aren't legal in La., because they are, as long as they are licensed in your state. Cashnetusa is usually legal, however, they did break the law by not honoring your ACH revocation, you will need to PROVE that you revoked it in order to pursue it legally though, so hopefully you have the revocation in writing with a date.

I do not know what a cso is. La requires you to have a store front to be licensed here. When you look on the web site cashnet is definitely not listed there.

My original email was revoking the ach debit and asking for a payment plan. Their payment plan was 156 on 8/13 and 240 on 8/16. They also stated that it was not legal for me to revoke the ACH debit.

I have all of the emails and I sent the complaint letter today to the office of financial institutions here in La.
