check n go online

I got a $1200 loan from check n go online. I was not able to pay it in full. I live in Texas. I worked out a payment plan, and I did repay $500, after already having paid over a thousand in renewals. After paying the $500, my personal situation got worse. My bank account was going negative the day I got paid!!!!!! I made several arrangements with check n go that I was not able to keep. They finally sold me to a collection agency named VCS. I talked with them on Sept 7th and made a $100 payment to them in good faith. She called today from VCS and said that I had promised to pay $300 last week. I made no such promise. She is now saying that I am going to be turned over to the legal department of VCS. Do I even owe VCS this debt, now that check n go has sold it? Please let me know. I cannot afford to be sued by a collection agency. Is check no go legal in Texas?

Check n Go is legal in TX. Does VCS own the debt or have they simply been assigned the debt? I'd send them a DV letter to confirm the amount you actually owe on the loan.
