Eastside Lenders question
Date: Mon, 09/20/2010 - 14:36
I sent a complaint to the Delaware BBB and got a response that they received my complaint and it takes 6-8 weeks to get a response but they have forwarded the complaint to Eastside.
I put a freeze on my bank account so no further debit will occur, they did not recommend closing as it takes 30 days for it to completely close and ACH debits will reopen it. What do I do now? Eastside keeps calling me because the debit is to occur this Friday, 9/24 and they always call to find out if I want to rollover or pay in full. Of course, I havent answered any of the calls........is it just a wait and see game at this point?
Your complaint with the DE BBB wont take 6 to 8 weeks, Rose Hawk
Your complaint with the DE BBB wont take 6 to 8 weeks, Rose Hawkins handles these complaints and she is fairly quick. You should receive a PIF from Eastside if you overpaid your principle with them easily. Christy Finnazo is the manager who handles the BBB complaints. Google her name and her email address will come up!

Ignore their calls. The BBB will act quickly and they're the only ones Eastside will pay attention to. If they send you any futher emails, just respond by resending your original letter. It's just a waiting game now, really.

I dealt with them last year. I kept attaching my original e-mail (Revocation of ACH) to their incessant e-mails. In my original letter to them I had forbidden them to contact me, except via e-mail or mail, so I didn't have to deal with their calls.
Hang in there. You will prevail.

I also have been dealing with them and just got off the phone with their "work out department". They lady there told me that signing the internet agreement was just like I was to step into the store and will have to be honored no matter what state I am in.
I was told by someone else that they will not look into my complaint unless I default on the loan. Which is impossible because they keep drafting my account! I have put stop payments on them and put in a complaint to the Delaware BBB as suggested above.
I will see!!!
The key lies in how much you can harass them. Flood their inbox
The key lies in how much you can harass them. Flood their inbox with the same email that you have sent to revoke ACH authorization again. And tell them that you won't receive their calls. Communication must only be through email or mails. And yes, keep in touch with the AG office of your state. File your complaints. It helps in the long run.

I received a reply from the BBB from Eastside last week and basically its the form letter they send out stating that Delaware laws apply and that my account is outstanding and need to contact them for payment arrangements. I declined their "response" and sent another email to the BBB...i guess we just have to see and wait.

Eastside Lenders needs to be investigated by the FTC, the more complaints that are received against them, the better the chances of them being investigated, another good source is YOUR state attorney general, but you have to push the subject and be very clear of their (eastside lenders) predatory ways, you have to push push push and make a very good case.

Yes contact your state attorney's office. In some states, another area could be handling it-Maryland it is the Department of Financial Regulation. MD has filed suit against Eastside Lenders with a C & D. ESL has responded stating they want a hearing (I am not the only person in MD the state will be representing). The state contacted me this past Friday asking if I would be interested in being a witness for the state when it goes to trial. I said yes. They are looking for people who have taken loans through them with the outrageous interest rates, customer service treatment, etc.
PUSH PUSH PUSH!!!! One day, I hope all PDL's will go out of business.
I also live in Maryland and I have a loan with Eastside lenders.

Update on Eastside Lenders...there is an administrative hearing
Update on Eastside Lenders...there is an administrative hearing in Hunt Valley, MD MD DLLR vs. East Side Lenders on 02/23 & 02/24. I am unable to make it, but I can not wait to hear the outcome! I have seen online that other states (CA and WI to name 2) have gone to court with ESL.
I also saw a posting online that the state of Maryland pulled the collection license from an agency (apparently out of KS) that was doing collections for many clients, including ESL. Maryland isn't playing!!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wildk, did you get the information you needed? The lady I spoke
Wildk, did you get the information you needed? The lady I spoke with is named Susan Elbon. She is really nice and gave me a lot of helpful information.

I attended the hearing & Eastside never showed up but Comm. on Financial Regulation went forward with the case anyway. Eastside had sent a letter to the Commissioners Office saying they had retained legal counsel in MD but they contacted their supposed MD representation and they verified Eastside was not officially their client. As it stands now the Commission is asking for fines & restitution (don't hold your breath on seeing any refunds) and Eastside originally said they wanted to settle the MD accounts; Financial Regulation said no. Don't know what the judges decision was (had to return to work) but it seems like it will be official that Eastside does not have any legal standing to offer or collect on loans they made on MD.
They didn't show up?! That is too funny! They knew they would
They didn't show up?! That is too funny! They knew they would lose as they have in other states, that's why. I'm not holding my breath for any refunds either (would be nice though)!!!
