When they talk to you they give you such a sense-of-urgency and speak so matter-of-factly that you are compelled to believe them. Listen people, any time, any attorney makes legal threats, tell them you are getting an attorney yourself. If you can't afford one, may I suggest pre-paid legal. There are pre-paid legal agents in all areas. It will cost you like $17 a month and they can go over all your legal options. I spoke to my pre-paid legal lady and she told me it is highly unlikely that they will sue you. She explained that there are legal processes that need to be carried out before wage garnishment takes place. They have to take you to court, which means they have to legally notify you. They can't just "claim" they've mailed you a letter. They have to send you notice through a legal serving process. These matters take time and for these fake attorneys it isn't worth the hassle. They rely on their passion for their skill in "fast talking". They are hoping that you are of the lesser sophisticated (putting it nicely) of our population. They rely on your ignorance. Trust me, before you pay these people a red cent, know your options. I am not saying its right to default on any loans but, helllllllllloooooooooooo people, why do you think Pay Day loans are only legal in a few states??? Because most other states deem them either "illegal" or "predatory lending practice". The people at William Sokol will try to convince you that ALL these people on the internet beefing about them are crazy. Hey. Believe what you want to believe. You've been warned.

You need to be sure that you haven't signed a wage assignment. This is not the same as garnishment. It's voluntary and most payday lenders have you sign them as part of your loan agreement. They can be revoked at any time. You need to simply send a letter stating you revoke any and all wage assignments you may or may not have signed and send it to the CA and your original payday lender. You will also need to give a copy of this to your payroll/HR department so they are prepared and informed.
