New To Forum Debt Settlement Question

Hello Forum:
What a great resource you have here. I am dealing with 3 cards that I will begin being late (30 day) this month, and can no longer pay.
Two are with B of A and one is with Cap One. Anyway, is there a resource on here that I can go to that has a sort of step by step instruction, with time lines, etc. of what to do and in what order so that I can begin the process right in order to get a point that I can negotiate a settlement?
I'm sure there's great help on here, just wanted to collapse my time frame in research and get right to the info.
Any help would be appreciated.:)
