how do I find out which companies are legal in my state of Tx

Click the link below to see if any of your lenders are licensed as a payday lender, if they aren't listed, they aren't legal. Do be careful when searching though because some lenders use dba names:

Next:
Do a search at the link below to make sure that your lenders are or are not registered as a CSO (Credit Service Organization):
https://direct.sos.state.tx.us/cso/csosearch.asp

If your lenders are not licensed or registered as a CSO, CLICK HERE to find out how to deal with illegal lenders.

There are two 'Ace Cash' lenders, one is Ace Cash Express and the other is Ace Cash Services. One is legal and the other is not, therefore it's important that you use the correct name of the company.

The same goes for 'National Group', please make sure the title of the company is complete and correct so that we may provide you accurate information.

I gave you the links above for the licensee data base and Credit Service Organization search. I know for sure that Ace Cash Services is NOT legal/licensed in TX, however, The National Money Store is a legal lender. They are also a member of the CFSA
http://www.cfsa.net/MemberList.aspx
Which means you would be eligible for an extended payment plan, but they won't volunteer that information, so you will need to request the EPP, read about the EPP at the link below:

There is no "form", you have to request it in person, or if this was an Internet loan then you would need to call them and ask for it. Once you sign up for the EPP the interest stops and you would make four payments to pay it off, you also need to request the EPP BEFORE your next payment is due.
