she called the next day yelling and threatening legal action again, so i told her i would see her in court. then she admitted she couldn't take legal action against me because i was on social security. when i told her i would call the state banking commission she said she doesn't have to abide by their rules because they're a different company and she could do what she wanted at her discretion
my daughter called and asked for the manager who was out at the time but a message was left for her to call back. my daughter wasn't home at the time of the phone call and the lady again called back and said she wouldn't give a payment arrangement.
a few days later she called back demanded that i bring $58.00 up to the store that day for the payment arrangement and if i didn't do it i was refusing the payment arrangement. i told her i didn't have the money and she continues to call and when i told her it was harassment she said she could call me as much as three times a day. this person is rude and unethical. my daughter did finally speak to her today in which she didn't so much as verify who she was speaking with. she didn't ask her the name but preceeding to discuss the account with her.
what action can be taken against this woman to stop the harrassment and yelling? This Brandy person will not even give me a number of someone over her. She's very unprofessional

OK, here's a number for a district manager in your area. His name is Shawn and you can reach him at 205-908-6116. These people are a member of the CFSA but, since you've already defaulted they are not obligated to give you an extended payment plan. My advice would be to call this gentleman and ask him if you can work out a payment arrangement. Tell him your situation, your limited income and that you want to pay off this debt but cannot meet the terms of their payment arrangment. I would ask for that $700 settlement and tell them what you can afford to pay monthly until it's paid off. If they get huffy with you, remind them that you are on SS and, if they sue you, they'll end up getting nothing in addition to having to pay an attorney.

I would not mess with the DM, but instead go directly to the Corp Office. They need to know hiw this was handled at the store level.

PDLOwner, that was my original plan. I cannot, however find any information on the corporate offices and when I called the store, the lovely girl that worked there claimed that she doesn't have a number for their corporate offices.
Curious, maybe you could just call Shawn and ask him for the number to the corporate office since the girl at the local store doesn't have that info and I couldn't find it online. As far as your loan agreement goes, you should've kept a copy of the agreement. If you think they've switched info, they're certainly not going to give you a copy of the old contract and the "switched" contract so that you can compare.

I can't find it. I did, however find that if you go to the checkmate website and go to the contact us section, there is an option on the form for selecting "corporate offices, Atlanta GA." Perhaps try that route of contact.
