Chexsystems and Store cards

I have an account from Best Buy closed on me by HSBC. I have been contemplating not paying it off. My question is can HSBC report me to ChexSystems and prevent me from opening a checking account with another bank?
What I am worrying about is I might not be able to get another card due to this. Please help with advice.

ChexSystems has nothing to do with credit cards. If you've defaulted on your BestBuy card, you likely won't be able to get another one but your credit card has nothing to do with your checking account.
