need help on sol

hello everyone. I need info. pertaining to sol, which is 4 years for cc in my state. dc has filed a petition over a year ago which is within the sol. I disputed the debt at the time, and never heard from them again until this year 9/10. in which the sol has now expired. They sent me discovery which I answered an objected to each question. I sent them my own discovery which included debt validation. can I assert sol in my case since this is pretrial and discovery can be intiated by any party. There is no court summons as of yet.

A summons would have to come before discovery In a lawsuit. You said they filed a petition--where did they file it? If this is going on through the courts then something does not add up. Call the clerk of courts office and make sure that there isn't an actual lawsuit against you.
