I paid theses blood suckers off prior to realizing they were operating without a license in California (oh well). Now they call me and tell me I have not paid the loan. (bastards. somehow I knew they would screw up) They said that the ACH was returned as a closed account. "This is true" I said. I told them that I paid of the loan with a pre-paid visa card over 2 weeks ago. They said "oh we do not take payments that way." Well do you wanna see my Visa statement with the charge on it?! So I told them to check with their collections department and not to communicate with me again on this matter or it will be a violation of the FDCPA. So we will see.

An interesting thing I observed about the people they have calling you when you have not paid back the loans on time. In one instance I heard a baby crying in the background and in another, a dog barking. So what's up with that? I will keep you posted on Advance Me Today (located in the Virgin Islands.

It doesn't paint a very pretty picture does it.

What does it mean? Do they originally operate from an office or from their houses? How the Govt. in the first place allowed them to do business in the US?

yeah, I have a loan with them too. My loan was $500 and I have already paid $450, but that was not included in any of the principle balance. I have closed my checking account and today was the due date for them to take another $150, which again would not be part of paying down to $500. They actually sent me an email thanking me for my loan payment today, but my account is closed and they have no access to any of my other funds, so I am not sure what they are doing or if that is just an automatic response they send out..

I also got a loan from them for $500, I didn't actually pay them anything before I realized that I had to do something drastic I was in so deep. I had/have 7 storefront and 11 illegal loans. Anyway I sent the letter to them -and all the others that sent email notifications that they send as a 'reminder' -it was the c&d letter that said that I would pay the principle but only if they would send me an address to make payments. That was 2 weeks ago and I haven't heard anything from them since. The email is automatic they send before the payment bounces back as closed account, because before I sent the letter they sent a demand to call them to arrange payment. Some haven't even contacted me at all! One is Summit Group, they took maybe one $90 payment and then I closed my account- haven't heard anything from them. All that I have that are illegal locked me out of my account though-
Paydaymax, paid them literally hundreds in interest over several loans
Discountadvances, same thing
Mycashnow, ditto
USfastcash, yep
Oneclick Cash, oh yeah them too
Advancemetoday, never paid them- first loan was a desperate attempt at keeping afloat
Acecashservices, paid 975 for 300 at least 2x and last one was for 250
Cashtransfercenter, paid 97.50 2x a month for at least a year, keep reloaning 465 every two weeks.
JDmarketing, loaned 250 and they told me when I called to say I couldn't pay that if I didn't fax them a copy of a money order for 325 and send it by the 25th they would automatically go to a collection company. Waiting to see if that's true.
Spotonloans, I actually paid the last payment of my 975 for 300 loan. that was second or third one...
The legal ones I am trying to get to agree to what I can pay- the ones that do payments all want it in 4 payments, if I had 1100 a month to pay all of them I wouldn't be in this mess- hello! Anyone have any ideas what to say to get them to agree let me know.. Thanks

I am dealing with these people too. They are the most unprofessional people, it is unbelievable! They just attack you when they have NO clue what they are talking about! I have sent the C&D letter to them SEVEN times and at least now I have proof that they received it - even though I know they received it the other six times as well! This was their response:

State laws do not apply to our loans we are in Costa Rica and we are following the treaty that Costa Rica has with the United States so at this point I am going to request you call to make arrangements to pay this loan back.

I informed them that the State laws DO apply and they are operating illegally in the United States and that there was NO way I was going to discuss anything over the telephone.

Ever since 1789 the U.S. has had a constitution and that constitution has a supremacy clause that says federal laws trump state laws. Treaties, once approved by the U.S. Senate, become federal laws. I have no idea what treaty this company is talking about, but if there is a treaty in effect then they are right and you are wrong about state laws applying.

I am dealing with mypaydayloan.com that is located in Costa Rica. They gave me the same crap about Costa Rica law supercedes United States law. I told them I was not a resident of Costa Rica, never planned on being a resident and therefore Costa Rica law does not apply to me. I also told them to go ahead and expediate me to Costa Rica because I could really use a vacation! I filed a complaint with my State's Attorney General's Office....haven't heard from them since.
