Voluntary Wage Assignments are just that, voluntary. They can be revoked at any time. You need to send a letter to your creditor revoking the wage assignment and also give a copy of that letter to your HR/Payroll department.

I'm a federal employee and was told by our payroll dept. that the only way payroll would fork over any of my check was pursuant to a court order, which would be garnishment not assignment. Chances are it will be more difficult for someone to puch an HR department to honor a voluntary assignment from a government entities. However, definitely follow OhioGal1's advice and revoke any wage assignments and get in touch with your payroll people.
