is it safe to pay with prepaid card?

So i settled with advance me today for a loan in collections and need to pay in 3 installments. My question is this, is it safe to pay with prepaid card? I asked if i can have terms in writing or confirmations after each payment and she said i will get paid in full letter after all payments are processed. Is this the way it usually works? Please help! Thank u!
