Fabulous job! I too did not get the lowest of the low settlements, but I A) Didn't get sued and B) was done rather quickly with the whole thing. I saved about $17,000 and was more than happy with that. When I took a 50% settlement I would think it was cheaper than hiring an attorney if they sued me.

Congrats. It's tough to get low % on relatively low balances as yours, because they feel they are somewhat collectable. Great job.
My Amex balance was pretty close to yours; I was able to get 25%
My Amex balance was pretty close to yours; I was able to get 25%, but I had to be a little aggressive about it. I would've paid 50% if I had it. Congrats!
Did you settle directly with the CC or with collections?
the longest i waited was 150 days, i was afraid of not being abl
the longest i waited was 150 days, i was afraid of not being able to get a good deal if they went to collections, the only one that went to an outside agency was american express, they wouldn't budge and i couldn't aford 70% so i took the advice of the board and let it go to the outside agency and hoped for the best, luckly enough i was sent to nco and they were easy enough to deal with. we paid what we could afford.
