I keep getting called from this number and they claim to be a law firm, they are going to suspend my drivers license, etc. Totally unprofressional, he called today and said we have been waiting for you to call back and you haven't. I said I asked you to mail me documents last week when you called, he said oh yeah. Then today asked if he could email me instead because he forgot to mail them. I said fine. Then he just left a message asking where I work? He claims to be calling on behalf of Kenwood Services for a payday loan I took for $350- I am suspicious and wondering if anyone else has been called by them. I googled this number and it comes up as a carpet cleaning place in FL.

When I googled the number, I too came up with a carpet cleaning place in Florida. Sounds like a scam to me. Make them verify everything and don't pay anything.

It is a letter where you ask the debt collector to validate the debt which they are collecting. If the debt collector cannot validate the debt, it proves that they don't have the rights to collect on the debt. You can get a sample of DV letter from the following link: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/letters/sample6.html
