Collection notice from Smith Debnam

I have received a collection notice from Smith Debnam regarding a Citi Mastcard account that I owe $11k on. I have 30 days to dispute or resolve the claim with them. Do I send a request for debt validation? Do I try to call them and resolve it? I have roughly 5 days before my 30 days is up. If I don't respond, will they sue?

Have you called Citi to verifying that this agency is collecting on the account? DVing on a citi account could cause you to be sued ASAP since agencies are hired third party.

You need to dispute ASAP....even with that said you need to be careful with this bunch. I am currently taking them on in court. They filed a lawsuit against me 30 days before I even recieved my dispute request from the credit card company.
