I need major help. I have managed to get myself into payday loan debt and can't get out. I currently have 6 loans with the following companies:

Great Skies Cash
PayDayMax
CashNet USA
Sonic Cash
247 GreenStreet.com
AdvanceMeToday.com

Each of these had a payment due on 10/5/10 and I was unable to pay them as I had no money in the account. The bank declined each payment and is closing my account, my problem is they will not stop calling me at work and sending threatening emails that they intend to garnish my wages. What do I need to do to get this mess in order? Can the garnish my wages?

Thanks-
Tina

All payday lending are prohibited in the state of Maryland. Except Cashnet USA, you are morally responsible to pay only the principal amount borrowed from each of them. Cashnet USA is a registered CSO and you have to pay them back as per the loan agreement.

As for the rest, you should close your account to protect it from these illegal PDL lenders. Click on the following link to know how to deal with these illegal lenders: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/illegal-pdl-dealings.html

Thanks a MILLION!! I reviewed my loans and Great Slies I have had since 5/27/10 original loan amount was $500 I have paid back $1225. Cash Net USA I borrowed $800 originally and have paid back $1143.83 of that $400 went directly to the principal borrowed the rest was fees. If I am only required to pay the amount borrowed back does that mean I can ask for a refund on these?

I have one final question, you mentioned that Cash Net USA was a CSO and legal in MD. I went to their website and clicked on the terms and rates tab to get information and it shows a US map and what they have available for what states. There are 3 states that they have nothing available for and MD is one of them. Does this mean that they too are illegal?

Thanks Again!!
Tina

They are listing the states where they offer payday loans which require licensing, a CSO doesn't require a license, they are only required to register with the secretary of state, their fees and interest rates are not regulated.

Do not use Advance me today. they have multiple security problems ranging from stolen social security #s to people obtaining customer information and calling impersonating collections dept. demanding money from clients. to people opening accounts and having other "companies" withdraw money from there accounts as well due to people obtaining customer information from their site.

After reading all of this information, I am extemely saddened and disappointed that we have all had to go through this. I have had my bank stop all withdrawals from advancemetoday. I don't know how to go about them using another name, but i can't close my bank account until after the 30th, That's 10 days away. After realizing that I have now paid $800 for a $500 loan, I became angry. I called and I yelled at them. Don't mess with a momma trying to feed her kids. I will NOT pay them ANOTHER DIME. Let them try. They can call, they can harass, i'll give it right back, and maybe even call Nelly a whore (thank you former employee). So, I will right to all people necessary. But any way that we can get the word out to stop people from using them, the better. Thank you, thank you, and thank you to this fine community. :p
