Remember me posting about a wells fargo account that is showing as PAID on credit report and I am currently paying to a collection agency, but collection agency isn't on report? well, I finally got my Experian report back yesterday, the collection agency is showing on husbands report on Experian. BUT they are not on the other two reports, just this one. I know they don't have to report to each other, but why is one report so different than the others? Maybe the collection agency just reported to the one bureau? guess its good if someone pulls the Equifax one or transunion, they don't see it then. They did fix a couple of things for me, but as I said, they're showing one thing the other two aren't.

Also I noticed the Dell accounts that my husband has, Equifax is showing all '0' balance except for one. So figured collection agencies purchased those--the ones with 0 balance. But on Experian, they're showing all of them as having a balance. And this is how they have them wrote up---balance-$2012 as of 1/2006-closed account charged off- $1932 written off $595 past due as of 2006.

what does that mean? several accounts are shown as charged off and have the balance listed but then break it down to part of that being charged off and part being past due. Past due as of 2006 on a closed account that is charged off? I don't understand. This is ONLY on experian report. can anyone explain this to me? shirley

There seems to be some clerical error in this account. I too have not been able to calculate it. I think you should dispute with the bureau or call them at their toll free number. Explain the posting to the person out there and if he finds it in error, dispute with Experian in writing.

Shirley, you have been paying your accounts to the collection agency hired by Wells Fargo. There seemed to be no problem. Have you asked the lady with whom you had a nice talk regarding your account regarding why did they hit the bureau? Though, they have the rights to do so, but I thought they won't do it in your case.

John, in this case, I thought collection agency was hired by wells fargo, but now credit reports are showing that its been paid with 0 balance. Now the collection agency that I'm paying is the one that purchased the account and they didn't report to equifax or transunion, only experian. When I was looking over the other two reports, I thought it was a good thing that wells fargo was showing sold/0 balance but experian has the CA on their report but not the other two. I guess my fate depends on which report someone looks at?? since they're not all reporting the same. shirley

I agree, but if this collection agency wants, they can report to the other two bureaus as well. So, I think you should talk to that lady and get some info about your accounts and know their plans. Definitely, you do not want the collections to appear in all the three reports, so any step to repair your credit at this stage will be helpful.
