After doing much independent research and going to different legal advice sites, I've actually had much success fending off these predatory lenders, and am alomost out of the woods. Most recently I had one lender after I sent a great letter to them regarding the loan being technically illegal due to it being umlicensed in my state. When they responded, they said they considered the loan paid in full and account closed. However, I'm requesting the $355.00 over the principle that I paid. Do you think the company will honor my request for the refund over the principle of $300.00? I ended up paying $655.00

Paul, the point is, if they're an illegal lender, you just don't know what will happen. If they're in Pakistan, you can't sue them for the money you overpaid, just as they can't sue you if you didn't pay. The best you can do is ask for a refund, bug them about it for a while and, if they don't budge, give up and be happy that you're rid of them.
