I am just wondering how long it will take for an account that I settled to show in my credit report?

How long ago did you pay it off? It depends on how frequently the creditor reports to the bureaus. Did you receive a SIF/PIF letter? If so, I would simply dispute, in writing, with the credit bureaus and enclose of copy of your SIF/PIF letter.
