I have been getting several phone calls a day from Nations Recovery Center regarding a defaulted credit card bill from Credit One Bank. Back in September I sent Nations Recovery Center a certified/return receipt letter asking for a debt validation. As of today, I have gotten nothing. Mrs. Jones, Nations Recovery Center, just called (for the 10th time) today and I answered the phone. I told her that I had sent a debt validation letter which I know their company received and as of today, I have not received the requested information. She indicated to me that today was the 120th day this loan is in default and that Nations Recovery was sending my account back to Credit One Bank and the next step would be that Credit One Bank would be sending the account to an attorney. To be quite honest, I don't even remember having a Credit One Bank card and have no knowledge of any charges. My question is, what do I do now? Do I sit and wait until an attorney contact me and again send a debt validation letter to them? Do I contact Credit One Bank and try to get information from them? Please help!

i would try to see if credit one is on your CR.if not i wouldn't worry.chances are that the attorney will be nothing of the kind, but a humanoid.playing attorney.if an attorney should come calling.they are subject to the FDCPA.btw i also had this scam card and they sell it before they assign it so chances are good that credit sold it to this bottomfeeder.

I had not pulled my credit report for over a year, and thanks to your advice, I just pulled it. To my shock, they are on my CR as being open and a balance of $1,562!!!!! I honestly have no knowledge of this credit card. I called the Credit Bureau and they told me I could file a dispute with them and it will show on my CR as disputed. I am planning to do this ASAP. Anything else I should be doing? Thanks Paul.

To be quite honest, I don't even remember having a Credit One Bank card and have no knowledge of any charges. Having said that back in Sept. I got a dunning letter from Nations Recovery Center. I sent them a certified/return receipt letter asking for a debt validation. Of course, I got absolutely nothing. No calls, no nothing. Then in Dec. I get another dunning letter from Praxis Financial Solutions, again I sent them a certified/return receipt letter asking for a debt validation. No calls, no nothing. Today at work, I get a call from a complete different company saying they sent me a letter on Dec. 7 (which I did not receive) telling me that they wanted their money, etc. etc. etc. I said ???whatever??? and hung on them. Since, they have called 12 times. Now what do I do?

well time to go to naca.net and find a contingency lawyer in your area.bottomline you sent a proper validation request and not only are they ignoring it but this bogus debt is being sent around like a hot potato.time to sue the unfortunate bottomfeeder that call now.btw a contingency lawyer will sue said bottomfeeder and charge his fee to them.do it.enough is enough.
