Hey, everybody! I wanted to let you know that I have been working on my 10 pdls in the state of Texas, with much, much help from this forum.

I went to Bank of America and closed my account and put a hard block on it, although we had 2 separate accounts there already and left the 2nd account open, which is a joint account and I was told would be unable to be accessed. The lady at the bank was more than helpful and extremely understanding, causing me to believe that a good decision was made by going to speak to a banker in person, though it was a little daunting at first. She also told me that she personally gets at least 3 of these problems every 2 days and there are at least 8 people working with different customers at their location, making probably 24 of these every 2 days or so, at least 50 a week in that one branch, and to not feel alone.

I was told by Check-N-Go that I had to let the payment try to clear. After the payment did not clear, I would be able to call their in-house collections department, 800-769-1058, and set up a payment plan with no penalty discussed (yet) and was told that it would not go on my credit.... yay!

I then talked to Cashnetusa via live chat and made arrangements to break up my loan amount into 4 payments, starting 11/1, giving me a 1-paycheck break from the payments and having the debt paid by 12/15. No penalty from this company for the plan. They were very understanding and easy to work with.

I then talked to Cash Central and was told to set up payment arrangements with the payment department, 800-460-4352, that there would be a $10 bounce fee and that I could break the loan and interest amount up into 2 payments.

I called Ace Cash Express, who also were very understanding. They said to let the payment bounce and then call collections, 888-753-2355, to set up a payment plan. No penalty was discussed at this time; will have to wait to find out.

I called Instantcashusa, which is a loan that is almost complete and I wish to pay as soon as I get paid. I was told that I would be given a 3-day grace period after my original pay date and could call up and pay over the phone with a debit or credit card and they would not even try to send the payment to the bank. Very easy to deal with, 888-255-1110.

Those were the first 5 of my loans.

I found out through this forum that 4 of them were not legally operating in Texas. I was told by the bank personnel that I could not be sent to jail for internet loans (I hope she's right) and that I should take care of the legal companies first, but to try to deal with all of them and not to totally ignore them. My intent was never to not pay my loans, only to stop the interest and pay what I owe, although a couple of the companies are very shady, particularly Emerald Marketing, which has probably ended up costing me the most on a small loan.

My last pdl is with Paydayone and is not due until next week, so I will work on that one later; I've missed enough time from work dealing with this stuff.

I hope that some of this information is helpful to other forum members. I was extremely worried about these loans until I started reading all of the posts and threads and now can almost sleep at night. It is much better to face these guys head-on, and you can find most of the tools to do it right here on this site. I still have the 4 unlicensed ones to deal with, but at least I feel like I am making a great deal of headway at the start.

Good luck to the rest of you. Even after I get out of this mess, I intend to remain a member of this forum as the tools are phenomenal and I believe it is going to help me get my financial life on track.

Thanks to DTCC!

What state are you in? What is the name of the payday lenders, have you defaulted on the loans yet?
