Well I have paid off and closed on 2 of my internet pdl's, but keep on receiving solicitations to take out more loans. NO Freeking Way! But I am being harassed several times a week with these emails. So I decided to respond to them with the following email. Since these emails don't have an "opt out" link, I am hoping that this will eventually get the message across: If anyone has a better idea, please let me know. -K

__________

Hello.

I request that you please 'Cease and Desist' soliciting for business using my email address. Please remove my name and email address from your systems effective today. The California State Board of Corporations has advised me that you do not have a valid license to lend in the State of California, therefore it would be illegal for you to grant anyone in this state a legal and binding loan.

Should I continue to receive mails from you after a reasonable amount of time has passed for you to clear out your system, I will escalate this to the next level.

A copy of this email is being sent to the California State Board of Corporations, Licensing Division, Sacramento office of Preston DuFauchard, Commissioner.

Regards,
Ken

Mine go directly into my junk folder (I don't even open them lest they contain malicious "bugs"). Then I delete all in the junk folder.

You can also opt to block them so that you don't receive them.

Can I ask, did you default on any of your previous PDLs? If so, they're probably trying to get your new bank account information, I had that happen to me, too. "You're SUCH a good customer, we'd like to offer you a chance to get hooked into the PDL trap again." (well, they didn't QUITE put it that way). I just marked 'em as spam and that took care of that.

Did not default on anything.

I think what the issue is, when I called them to pay it off I did not have an open back account so that confused them. They did not know how to process my payment without a "bank account." So I suggested my pre-paid visa card. They said they don't take credit cards or debit cards.I told them if you want your money you need to do it this way or give me your address and I will send it ot you. Well after a lot of insistence on my part, they agreed to process it with the card.

I think their accounting is screwed up. but man are they nasty. It reminds me of the opening scene in Anger Management when Adam Sandler is on the plain an everyone thinks he is loud and rude but really not. :)
