FYI on the collections department from MoneyMart.

First of all if you ever have to deal with them you will realize that they really don't want to work with you on paying it off on terms that you can afford. So much for their in-store advertisement, "We value your business" Blah, blah blah.

I made a payment to them last night for an agreed amount, and I also had a nice conversation with the store manager as well. She was the first to admit that the collections department was full of nasty and rude people and has received numerous complaints from store clients. She indicated that after making my payment that my name should not be in the "Q" for a call for at least another week. Not so! Got a call this morning, 14.5 hours after I made the payment, thanking me and when can we expect you payoff the remainder of the loan. I told them I will make another payment on my next payday which is at the end of the month. They said that they cannot wait that long for a payment. I said "Oh well. That is the best I can do for you." Not worried about the threats to collection and their legal department because of what the store manager clued me into.

They will actually do nothing. They don't have a [quote] "legal department." She has defaulted and slow pay accounts in her store computer that are 2 years old and no action has been taken on them as yet. She said that she has never seen any account sold off to a outside collections company. She advised me to just come in and make any payment that I can muster and not to worry about "them." The store manager also gave me the name of two people to call so my name does not fall back into there call system. So, I wonder if this could be the norm with these store front PDL's. More bark than bite. :)

Thank you for the info. Wonder if that if this holds true for Cashland.
