When you enroll in a hardship plan, generally your account gets closed (if it's not already) and you get a lower interest rate and/or monthly payment plus no late fees or over the limit fees are assessed. None of this shows on your credit report so, it's not likely it would have an effect on settlement negotiations with other accounts.
