Payday loan received via in internet. I live in NC. Called the company to tell them I wish to close the account as I have already paid back the amount I borrowed. I told them I now know these types of loans are illegal in NC. Rep told me they are based on Costa Rica and follow federal regulations not state. What can I do to prevent them drafting more money from my account.

I am dealing with mypaydayloan.com that is based out of Costa Rica. Since they are not licensed to do business in my state, I am only obligated to pay back the principal balance. Close your account immediately! If you don't they will continue to debit your account. Trust me!
