Hi,
I am a college student, I borrowed money from a friend of mine for my college tuition last year in may. The guy didnt do anything till June when he forced me to give him a check of the amount which I stopped payment with the bank. Now on the basis of this check he is asking the collection agency to harass me with debt collection calls. Let me point out that I have not signed any contract that says that I owe him this much money by this period, and the check he has, portrays a forged sign which can be proven. I need help on what actions should I take to be careful of the collection agency harming me. Please help I am very worried.

You said you "borrowed" money from a friend. How are you being harmed? You wrote him a check which you later say was forged? You stopped payment on the borrowed funds harming your friend.
Oral contracts are just as enforceable as written ones. Did he write the check to the school? To you? Any judge would wonder why a friend would just give you money.
