vanquish applied late payment charges to my credit file without informing me, which im told is a violation, what can i do if anything

Your question is not clear. Did the company apply late payments to your account which in turn reported to your credit report? Who is Vanquish? A collection agency?
You do not have to be informed of charges applied to your account.
