I had an account with B of A a few forevers ago.
I NEVER used my card for more than just local shopping. I NEVER had a balance that big in my life because I've been on a poverty level income since retirement.
I'm 83 now, and dreadfully scared...this can't be my debt. It's preposterous! My credit card balance now is 600.00!!! And I'm poorer now than when I had the BofA card@ I didn't check my credit details but I used the freebees and got my credit number!!! 830!!! How can I have had a charge off all these years??? years. They don't say what the charge was for but they show initials...BWNHLTH. If it's a health expense, NO WAY! I'm 83 because I'm fit as a fiddle and never had any medical bills
Can you help me? Either these people are thieves, or they have the wrong party, or my credit was hijacked. I NEVER got a call or a letter notice from BofA all these years...why from a collection agency now?! I could not figure out any other reason for this charge.
I'd like to tear this noticeup and tell them to go to Haedes! But Im afraid now.

Send them a debt validation letter. There are samples in the DI
Send them a debt validation letter. There are samples in the DIY section of this forum. If it's not yours, they won't be able to verify it and then you can tell them to FOAD.
