AmeriCash Loans - IL storefront
Date: Tue, 10/19/2010 - 10:19
Has anybody had any luck working with AmeriCash Loans - IL storefront? In 2007, I took out a loan for $1,000. I paid back $1,637. They still want $1,997 from me. In 2008 and 2009, I wrote them a certified letter that they no longer have permission to use the wage assignment I signed. However, my payroll department received a notice of intent to assign wages on Oct. 12, 2010. Luckily, my payroll department informed me of the intent letter and I was able to stop the garnishment from my payroll check on Oct. 22, 2010. AmeriCash has given me the option to sign an Affidavit of Defense to stop the wage garnishment which I will sign and notorize today. Has anybody had any luck renegotiating their loan with AmeriCash? Also, I live in Indiana but I took out the loan in Illinois - I don't think my loacation matters since it's a licensed storefront. I really owe them $1,428 but they tacked on $569 in late fees. I was going to write a certified letter today and make them an offer to pay back the remainder of the loan but I wanted to know if anybody has ever successfully renegotiated their loan with them.
If you took out a loan for $1,000.00 and paid back $1,637.00 why
If you took out a loan for $1,000.00 and paid back $1,637.00 why do you owe $1,428.00? Also why would you sign a Affidavit of Defense to stop the wage garnishment if you don't owe them anything? You need to look at your original contract and contact their corporate headquarters to work out a settlement. Most store front employees don't have a clue on what their doing.
